House-Museum
The Medeiros e Almeida Foundation was created in 1972 under the Founder’s name, António Medeiros e Almeida (1895-1986) who donated to his country, the house where he lived for 30 years, as well as, his art collection bought all life long.
The residence and his whole estate were converted into a house-museum by the owner himself. The museum space consists of 25 rooms. The collection includes paintings, furniture, tapestry, goldsmithery, sacred art, glassware, Chinese porcelains, and jewelry, with sets and single items from the 17th century to the present day. The Foundation also aims the study, conserve, and disclosure its collection.

The Collection
Out of the 2.000 objects on display, the House-Museum includes 25 galleries that reveal the personal and social experience of MA. The collectors preferences are unveiled by the two specific galleries that he erected to house the watches and clocks and the Chinese porcelain collections.
Several other collections are on display: Portuguese and French furniture, 16th and 17th centuries Dutch and Flemish paintings, 19th century English portraits, English silver, jewelry, French and Flemish tapestries, etc.
